A Gentleman's Wish List: Father's Day Shopping

Father's Day is around the corner, and it's not just a holiday reserved for dads these days. It's a great time to celebrate the gentlemen in your life, and give them a gift that's just as distinguished as they are. Here are a few of my favorite Father's Day gift ideas.

OWEN AND FRED: These personalized leather luggage tags are the ideal gift for the guy who has everything. And...they are certainly more cost-effective than a European vacation. Also, they are made in the USA. ($40)

PORTLAND GENERAL STORE: Spending a lot of time adventuring, doing DIY building projects, and playing sports takes a huge toll on my hands. This is the perfect hand cream for the guy who doesn't want to indulge in a lengthy beauty ritual, but enjoys utility mixed with a great smell and package. With essential oils of cedar, hiba wood and patchouli, every time you apply, you'll be transported to the Pacific Northwest, minus the jet lag. ($14)

KINGS COUNTY DISTILLERY: What does a gentleman need after a long day? A great cocktail is across the board, my favorite way to unwind. Give a bottle of Kings County Distillery bourbon or moonshine to your favorite guy and maybe get one for yourself while you're at it. Made in Kings County, right in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. ($24)

GROVE: This is not your average iPhone cover. This Grove SkateBack is made of 100% post-industrial skateboard material. Grove products are made in a small workshop in Portland, OR, and each one is a little different. Choose from 3 different color schemes. Perfect for the techie gent. ($49)

WOOD AND METAL: The Sven-Saw is the ideal tool for the grab and go type of outdoors men. Utility comes in a small package, lightweight and easy to throw in a rucksack for camping, hiking, or beach excursion. The frames are American made and the blade's crafted in Denmark. At this price and quality, I'd order 5 and hand them out to all the guys you know. ($30)

JOEY ROTH:  To go along with a compact saw, the Joey Roth compass is a great addition to any dude's gear collection. Beautifully designed, he'll almost forget this is a totally functional piece of design. The wood frame is made from laminated Maple and East Indian Rosewood, and built around the Francis Barker survival compass. ($75)

ERNEST ALEXANDER:  EA's Watson Wax Brief is the quintessential bag that any guy needs in their wardrobe. Big enough to house his laptop, but stylish enough to accompany him to post-work cocktails, the Watson will become the ultimate city bag for your favorite gentleman. ($295)

DESIRON: I may be partial, but our Driscoll bar cart is one of my favorite items to gift to friends. Masculine and smart, this bar cart evokes the "Mad Men" in even the most casual guy's guy. Sweeten up the deal with a set of vintage whiskey tumblers and a bottle of his favorite booze. (Price upon request)

Cheers to the gentlemen,
